IPW Systems provides a quality management platform serving over 100,000 customers. Their platform helps businesses maintain compliance with industry regulations, ensure product or service quality, and improve overall operational efficiency.
As IPW's platform and customer base expanded, the growing demand highlighted opportunities to further strengthen product reliability. The QA team is committed to enhancing system stability and equipping the customer service team to provide high-quality support.
IPW needed to adapt its QA strategy to improve confidence in the product both internally and externally. The main problems were that IPW was too heavily reliant on manual testing, and testing was only done late in the development cycle.
“We knew we needed more proactive testing and had a decision to make: either invest in hiring and training more QA team members to keep up with demand or implement test automation.”

IPW selected Leapwork for its ease of use and ability to test across desktop and web. Other tools struggled to capture all elements in its customer journeys, such as pop-up windows.
The team built its first test cases before completing the onboarding process, demonstrating Leapwork’s fast ramp-up time. Even new team members, with no prior automation experience, could quickly add value.
“When a new employee joined the team, she was able to build test flows and validate simple processes after two hours of training. I think that’s pretty amazing.”

Leapwork’s intuitive platform has helped IPW to expand their testing beyond the next-version branch. They now also test the development and master branches.
Leapwork is fully integrated into IPW’s daily operations, running 130 automated test flows across three environments daily.
As IPW continues to grow, Leapwork ensures they can maintain quality without needing additional QA personnel or customer support resources.
“Leapwork has not only boosted the quality of our software, but it’s also saved us from having to hire extra QA staff. The automation saves us the equivalent of 1.5 full-time team members in testing, translating into substantial cost savings for us.”

Test coverage has expanded from 70 to 330 test cases, covering all essential branches of the development cycle. The number of hotfixes has dropped by 50% annually, a trend expected to continue as more test cases are automated. Catching bugs before production helps IPW expedite fixes and avoid complex rework.
Through test automation, IPW has reduced its feedback loop from a month to a day, accelerating time-to-market for updates.
Testing has transcended from just validating to actively shaping and enhancing product development. Discoveries from the testing team have brought 270 new features to the product roadmap over the last two years.
“Before Leapwork, our developers had to wait a long time for feedback. Now, they get immediate visibility through the dashboard when something fails and why. That makes everything transparent and easy to act on.”
