Who is NNIT?
NNIT, a large publicly traded Danish IT consultancy firm, is rolling out a Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) implementation. This involves migrating data and processes to applications within the D365 estate while ensuring quality user journeys at all times.
A crucial migration for NNIT was moving from Dynamics AX to Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. These applications support key financial processes such as invoicing and payroll.
THE CHALLENGE
Limited testing scope
As Dynamics AX and F&O modules are typically highly customized to meet specific business needs, thorough testing is essential. Changes, such as adding fields or workflow steps to service orders, can alter functionality in unpredictable ways, leading to unexpected bugs if new updates or integrations are not thoroughly tested.
NNIT’s previous testing approach was inconsistent and manual, with ad-hoc testing done by developers. This led to inefficiencies, potential risks of system issues, and limited scalability as the system grew in complexity.
NNIT needed an automation solution that could streamline certain processes, improve quality, and allow their test analysts to focus on revenue-generating client work rather than internal testing.

Leapwork played a pivotal role in NNIT’s migration of 950 projects from AX to F&O. Manually, this process would have taken 11 full workdays and would require pulling in a large team to execute the migration.
Leapwork also helped detect missing data and provided detailed status reports, ensuring higher accuracy and efficiency than manual migration processes. This ensured that NNIT could maintain reliable operations by catching issues before they affected live environments. NNIT has also started building automated regression test cases with Leapwork. With automation in place, the team can identify errors by running scheduled tests, including nightly schedules, which accelerates bug detection and minimizes the risk of disruptions.
