Who is the Azure Circular Team?
The Azure Circular Team (part of Microsoft’s internal IT organization) supports business-critical applications built on Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, Warehouse Management App, and Power Platform. Ensuring consistent quality across these interconnected systems was becoming increasingly difficult to handle with only manual testing.
Manual testing meant 200+ test cases, handled by a dedicated test team, required at least two weeks of effort to complete a full regression cycle across applications. Manual testing meant that there was a high risk of human error, due to the tedious processes that slowed down their ability to keep up with new releases.
THE CHALLENGE

The Azure Circular Team initially used manual methods for their regression testing, followed by RSAT (Regression Suite Automation Tool).
- Manual testing: Time-consuming, error-prone, and unsustainable for frequent release cycles.
- RSAT: Useful for core Finance and Operations scenarios but limited to only this area, excluding any ability to cover broader apps like Warehouse Management and Power Apps. RSAT also has downsides including high maintenance and slow execution.
